What a unique couple Jennifer and James are! In between operating at UCSF and travelling the Caribbean on their sailboat, they made time for an engagement portrait. We chose an industrial space to compliment the organic nature of their interaction, resulting in unique images with bold design elements.
Jennifer and James are getting married at the River Ranch Lodge in Lake Tahoe, where they will have a weekend get-away wedding.

Three days Lake Tahoe! What a treat! Family from all over the world, crystal-clear, deep-blue sky, balmy last days of summer, gone perfect. Exclusive candle lit rehearsal dinner under Ponderosa Pine trees. The ceremony with rafters shooting down the Truckee River as a backdrop. The River Ranch services, food and lodging were first class; the staff most accommodating to a somewhat innocent, wild and fun party.

Recently I had the chance to work with some schools who were looking for a personable photographer with artistic flair, and as usual I took it as an adventure and challenge and was greatly rewarded with getting to know some innovative schools, private and public: the East Bay Waldorf School, and Canyon Elementary. Not only did I do group photography, but I also worked with each child individually and saw how important it is to engage with them to have them blossom in front of the camera and show their essence. To get the complimentary teacher’s portrait worked like magic. Seeing the gorgeous results has already prompted parents from other schools to contact their schools to invite me for 2009.

Greetings and Salutations,
I wanted to share praise and gratitude for Martina Konietzny’s magnificent photography. A few weeks ago, my girls brought home their school photos and when I opened them I was greeted by beautifully captured, naturally shining faces. The level of sweetness, naturalness, and expertise with lighting and environment was beyond any other school picture I can remember my girls bringing home in the past. Even my husband, who normally thinks it’s a waste of money to purchase school photos was amazed by the beauty of the photos this year. I actually went out of my way to put them up on the wall immediately when I usually put them away somewhere and finally remember to put them up and give them out around the holidays. I truly hope she continues to be our school photographer for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Ari
